I know the feeling well...

You show up to a jam session with your band, and you're excited to start writing your next album, but that old familiar feeling starts to set in.  You know that you're relying on a bit luck to write great songs.

Your band starts and it sounds great!  You all manage to stay in sych, and go from an intro to a chorus effortlessly, but once you stop playing, the idea is gone.  You look at your bandmates and ask " hey, can you play that again?" After a few seconds of blank stare you get a reluctant, "ummmmmm."

You knew that answer was coming, but you thought you might get lucky this time.

So you try again and think to yourself "we're gonna get it this time," but what comes out wasn't close to that first riff and it just didn't flow that way it did before.  

"Its laid down so we have it" you say, "Let's try another one."  So back to the drawing board you go.  

Hours go by, and you get plenty of cool riffs, beats, and rhythms on your phone, but when you go back to listen, you can't seem to think of anywhere to go with all of the ideas you laid down.

So there it sits, another voice memo to add to your collection of unfinished ideas, waiting to be finished.
